GENERAL FICTION:  Our best selling male authors include  Nicholas Sparks, Dan Brown, Clive Cussler, Nelson DeMille, Ted Bell,  John Grisham, Vince Flynn, Michael Crichton and W.E.B Griffin.           Our biggest selling female author is undoubtably Nora Roberts. MYSTERIES:  We have over five thousand different mystery titles arranged alphabeticaly by author's last name.  Our most popular authors are Harlen Coben, Lee Child, Michael Connelly, Jeffrey Deaver, Janet Evanovich, Sue Grafton, J. A. Jance, James Patterson, Anne Perry, Kathy Reichs, John Sandford, Lisa Scottoline and Stuart Woods.... Plus we have a large selection of old favorites like Agatha Christie, Ed McBain, Robert B. Parker, Lawrence Block, Elmore Leonard, Elizabeth Peters, an assortment of Culinary mysteries, like Tamara Myers, Diane Mott Davidson, Jerilyn Farmer, Joann Fluke, G A McKevett and Joanne Pence.  Cat Mysteries;  Lillian Jackson Braun, Rita Mae Brown, Carole Nelson Douglas.


PARANORMAL ROMANCE: This is a genre that has blossomed in the past few years. It is really a blend of classic romance and horror/fantasy, involving relationships between humans and vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, ghosts or charachters with psychic abilities like telekenesis or telepathy. Queens of this genre are Sherrilyn Kenyon & Christine Feehan but we have more than 100 other authors in this section.


HISTORICAL ROMANCE: These are romance novels set in the past including Viking times through Medieval to Victorian England, Old Highland Scotland, Colonial and Civil-War America, Western & Naative American. The heroes are warriors, knights, pirates and cowboys. Popular authors are Stephanie Laurens, Dorothy Garlock, Christina Dodd & Susan Wiggs.


HORROR: We have a great selection of horror books. Our most popular authors are Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Lincoln Child, Douglas Preston, Bentley Little, Richard Laymon, Andrew Neiderman and popular vampire authors like Anne Rice, Laurel K Hamilton, Poppy Z Brite. Also older authors like John Saul, Peter Straub, James Herbert, Robert McCammon and Clive Barker.


TRUE CRIME:  Leading the list of true crime authors is of course Ann Rule, Aphrodite Jones, Greg Olsen, Jack Olsen and John Douglas. We have probably a larger selection of true crime than most bookstores, we also have a selection of Mafia Books.


SCI-FI / FANTASY:  Our top selling authors in this area are Isaac Asimov, Terry Brooks, Orson Scott Card, David Eddings, Alan Dean Foster, Terry Goodkind, Robert Jordan, Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, R A Salvatore.  We also have a large selection of  Star Trek, Star Wars, Forgotten Realms and DragonLance.


BIOGRAPHIES:  We have a large selection of Biographies, something for every one. Rock Stars, Actresses, Actors, Political, Royalty, Sport Figures, Artists. If you like bio's you are sure to find something you'll enjoy...

SELF-HELP: We have books on parenting, teaching, relationships, diet, exercise and nutrition, health, addiction, etiquette, home-repair and decorating, gardening, and a huge selection of cookbooks.

NEW AGE:   We have books on astrology, numerology, palmistry, psyhics, afterlife, near death experiences, reincarnation, meditation, Nostradamus, alien encounters, ufo's and true ghost stories, eastern religions,  Zen, Tao, I-Ching  and yoga.  Popular authors in this section include Edgar Cayce,  Carlos Casteneda, Kahlil Gibran, John Edward and Sylvia Browne.  We have a large Christian section including  books on Angels, Saints, Televangelists, Catholic church, faith and morality, prayer books, Bibles, C.S. Lewis, Max Lucado; the very popular "Left Behind" and "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series, and a very nice selection of Christian fiction novels.

CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE: These are larger sized paperbacks that tend to be a little more intellectual than the ordinary novel. These are the books that get nominated for Pulitzer and Booker awards, are read and discussed by book-clubs and reading groups and tend to cost $14.00 in a new bookstore. That is not to say that they are all serious, heavy,  thought-provokers for the intelligentsia. Many are very witty - like Bill Bryson, Augusten Burroughs,  and David Sedaris, heart-warming romance like Jennifer Weiner and Jane Green,  books that capture the spirit of a place like Peter Mayle (Provence) and Frances Mayes (Tuscany), popular  Italian-American writers like Rita Ciresi and Adrianna Trigiani, inspirational authors  like Mitch Albom and Paolo Coehlo as well as those award winners,  Barbara Kingsolver, Ian McEwan, Margaret Atwood,  Jane Smiley  and CormacMcCarthy to name a few.  At the head of this section we have a couple of shelves dedicated exclusively to Oprah's Book Club picks.
